"Providing education and entertainment through the dynamics of the performing arts"

Brecksville Theater on the Square was founded in 1975 by Jeannette Winter with backing by the Brecksville Recreation Department as a "theater for all ages." In the beginning, our educational activities consisted of a mobile "PlayWagon," a decorated bug-eyed Sprite roadster traveling the streets of Brecksville. This simple concept has now blossomed into a program that teaches drama to students annually.

From State Fair in 1975 to , our current season, Brecksville Theater on the Square has provided the community with numerous presentations of quality family theater. Casting only adults and teens in the very beginning, our scope of programming has grown to encompass all-age musicals, adult plays and annual student productions. We are continuously active in Brecksville and beyond through various community and outreach programs.

From its inception, Brecksville Theater on the Square performances have been located at the Old Town Hall, an historic Brecksville b
uilding located at the intersection of routes 21 and 82 in downtown Brecksville. The Old Town Hall is listed on "The National Register of Historic Places" and is owned and maintained by the City of Brecksville. This building went through a major renovation in 1998 to restore its structure and uncover its original interior charm.

Brecksville Theater on the Square has developed into a well established theater of the performing arts, not only providing the community with family theater, but with a wide variety of drama classes and programs offered to students, pre-school through adults. Outreach programs, scholarship offerings and increased involvement have made BTOTS an innovative and exciting place to be. The dynamic and generous support of our city and many individuals has made our growth possible.

We welcome all to join in our success, whether on-stage or off-stage, and to become a part of it all!
