Meet Our Very Talented Summer Camp Teachers
Meriel Sikora (Education Director) Meriel has been teaching acting, dance, and improv for over 15 years. She has a degree in Theater Performance from Huntington University in Huntington, IN and has acted with professional companies in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. Directing credits include Children’s Letters to God at BTOTS and A Christmas Story at Olmsted Performing Arts. She loves introducing the magic of live theater to students of all ages. Now in her sixth year as Education Director at BTOTS, Meriel is excited to bring this music on stage! This fall, she will direct BTOTS’ production of Aladdin Jr.
Deborah Cluts (Mini Camp Instructor) is an actress, director, and educator in the Cleveland area. She taught as an Actor Teacher for Great Lakes Theater for four years and has also taught classes and camps at community theaters including Geauga Lyric Theater Guild and Brecksville Theater on the Square. Deborah has performed at numerous venues including Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theater, and The Beck Center and is a member of the murder mystery troupe: Motive for Murder. Deborah is currently teaching youth classes at TrueNorth Theater in Sheffield and at Fuchs Mizrachi School in Beachwood. She will soon be directing Lend Me a Tenor at Strongsville Community Theater.
ErinFodor (Mini Camp Instructor) graduated from Ashland University with a B.A. in Musical Theatre. Erin teaches acting, dance, and musical theatre classes all over NE Ohio and directs children and teen theatre productions. Erin also enjoys working for Party for a Living playing princesses and other characters for corporate events and children’s birthday parties.
Lauren Fraley (Mini Camp Instructor) is a performer and theater creator, primarily interested in collaborative ensemble/devised projects; she is thrilled to be teaching at Brecksville Theater on the Square once again! Lauren has performed at The Cleveland Museum of Art with Theater Ninjas, and collaborated on many original theater projects at Cleveland Public Theatre including Earth Plays (ensemble), Free Radical and The Late Night Sketchbook (Marina/ensemble), The Secret Social in collaboration with Conni’s Avant Garde Restaurant (Étude), and The Reverie Oracle. She has worked as an actor-educator with CLIMB Theatre, a teaching artist at Karamu House and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte (NC), and currently teaches in the Community Engagement & Education Department at PlayhouseSquare. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in theater from Bowling Green State University and has trained at NaCl Theatre, and La MaMa Umbria in Spoleto, Italy.(Laurenjoyfraley.weebly.com)
Christina Haviland (Scenic Arts) Christina is currently the Scenic Artist for Olmsted Performing Arts. She has been with OPA for 6 years, and her work there also includes Set Design, and Directing. Christina enjoys every aspect of theater, especially working with young people and facilitating growth in their areas of interest. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasedena CA., and has worked with Clauge Playhouse and Huntington Playhouse as an actor. Christina is excited to teach Scenic Arts as a part of Brecksville’s camp this year, and hopes to guide students to a better understanding of the joys of theater’s backstage elements.
Josh Landis (Mini Camp / Dance Instructor) Josh has been singing, dancing and acting his whole life. Originally from New Jersey, Josh went to school in Philadelphia where he had a chance to take multiple theatre and dance classes as well as connect with professional companies in the city. Josh has performed in Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander), Godspell (Lamar), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! (Linus), and White Christmas (Phil Davis). He could not be up on the stage shining without the support of his beautiful wife Melissa and three children, Gabe, Eli, and Selah.
Corinne Lindway (Mini Camp Instructor) is a recently married, in home nanny from Mayfield, Ohio. She graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a bachelor's in theatre. Corinne has a passion for youth theatre and has taught youth theatre at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, Cassidy Theatre and BTOTS. She is looking forward to teaching fun new stories this spring!
Drew Murray (Magic Instructor) Drew’s interest for the art of magic began at age six. After seeing a magician at a summer festival, he was hooked. At age 10, he began performing magic at private parties, churches, and libraries. That same year, he launched his first website and was featured in a magic show for more than 400 people. Through the years, Drew’s magic has been seen by thousands of people across Ohio and the nation. He has been hired to perform for numerous universities and corporations including Arby’s, Embassy Suites, The Ohio State University, Macy’s and many more. His show today includes hilarious comedy, audience participation, and astounding illusions. Drew is now a student at The Ohio State University, where he is studying Art and Technology. Emily Ortolano (Music Instructor) is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College where she holds a degree in piano with a minor in voice. She owns and operates a private piano and voice studio in Parma, as well as being in her 8th year serving as the Director for the Rocky River Community Chorus. She has served as the Assistant Music Director and accompanist for The Singing Angels. Emily has performed in various venues, including Playhouse Square, Erie’s Warner Theater, Pittsburgh’s Heinz Hall, Hollywood’s Graumins Theater, and The Crystal Cathedral. She has also been heard and seen on multiple radio and television stations throughout the country. She has accompanied and music directed many shows, including Broadway Moments, Applause, Big River, and To You…From Mike and Rob at Cassidy Theater, West Side Story at Wickliffe Civic Center, and Cabaret at John Carroll University. Emily has also served as the Musical Director for Holy Name High School’s Summer Theater Program, as well as Aurora Community Theater’s summer children’s theater program. This is her 4th summer at BTOTS.
Carli Miluk-Markiewitz (Preschool Instructor) has performed, choreographed, and directed theater locally for many years. Her Cleveland performance credits include MorrisonDance, Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, Cleveland Public Theater, and the Magic Mike Productions magic shows. International credits include a European tour for Armed Forces Entertainment as the host of a puppet show with Natural Bridges Puppet Production Company. She graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance. Carli has been a master teaching artist with Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio, and is the Director of Outreach and Education for MorrisonDance. She is additionally works as a local personality for Radio Disney in Northeast Ohio.
Cassie Neumann (Acting Instructor) is an actor, director, and teacher- happy to be living and creating theatre in the Cleveland area. She is a graduate of Kent State University, a teacher and director at Brunswick High School, and soon will hold a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron. Acting credits include work with Theater Ninjas (The Excavation, Marble Cities, Anna Bella Eema), Tri-C West (Pray for the Missing Girls, Into the Woods, R+G are Dead), Cleveland Shakespeare Festival (Othello, William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead, The Winter’s Tale), and Actor’s Summit (A Christmas Carol). She has also directed for Cleveland Public Theatre’s Springboard series and was the assistant director and stage manager for Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s Merry Wives of Windsor. She is excited for this new opportunity to work with everyone at Brecksville Theater on the Square!
Carrie Williams ("The Company" Instructor) has been involved in the artistic community of Northeast Ohio since 2009. In addition to working as an Actor-Teacher with Great Lakes Theatre for three years, she has performed with Talespinner Children's Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, and Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, as well as serving as a teaching artist all over the area. Carrie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Bowling Green State University.
